Content Management System (CMS) Websites
A WordPress website design comes with a built-in content management system (CMS) which enables the website owner to easily update their own website without the need to know HTML or have any programming skills.
Blogs are CMS sites using software such as WordPress, and enable you to log into a control panel and easily create content, articles and upload images, etc.
WordPress and all CMS websites use a database to store and categorise data, so they are also ideal for websites with a large amount of content.
At Taurus Graphics we are experienced WordPress web designers and have built sites using WordPress, Joomla and Expression Engine, but we much prefer WordPress. Both WordPress and Joomla are free to download and come with many plug-ins to enable extra features. The Taurus Graphics’s website is a WordPress site.

CMS websites run from a database so they are ideal for content rich websites such as directories.
The data is stored completely separately from the designed pages, and the two are put together when a request is made to view a page by the user. This means that it’s very easy to manage your data, and you can easily update the design of your website without having to re-enter data.
The following two websites are examples of directory sites (otherwise known as database driven sites). The following two sites: getdialing.com and movingtobarcelona.com contain a large amount of data in the form of links to other sites, information and listings.
getdialing.com is a directory and review site of alternative and cheaper ways to make phone calls. It reviews and lists telephone services for landlines, mobiles and voip worldwide. It is a WordPress website.
movingtobarcelona.com/directory/ The directory part of movingtobarcelona.com is a listings website again powered by WordPress.
